Admission Requirements Students must be at least 16 years of age and have at least an eighth grade education. In order to receive financial aid, students must have a high school diploma, GED, or pass an "Ability to Benefit Test". Arrangements to take the test can be made through the school administrator and by calling us at (740)353-2436. Cosmetology Programs Managing
Cosmetology (1800 Hours) This course consists of 1500 hours of training in the field of Cosmetology for state licensing in addition to 300 hours of business information necessary for attaining a managing cosmetologist license. The course is designed to prepare students for state licensing. Upon completion of this course, and successfully passing the State Board Exam, the student would have employment opportunities such as an operator, platform artist, manufacture representative, educator, salon owner, make-up artist, nail technician and marketing. It also deals with advanced cutting, styling and chemical techniques. Cosmetology Managers Only (300 Hours) The Managers Course is 300 clock hours in length and is offered to licensed cosmetologists who do not have 1 year working experience and is also offered to 1500 hour graduates of beauty school who want to become a licensed Managing Cosmetologists. This program is designed to train students in all areas of business management necessary to successfully manage a beauty salon. Instructor (1000 Hours) Consists of 1000 clock hours designed to teach the managing cosmetology graduate to become a licensed instructor in the state of Ohio. The program trains potential instructors in the tools and knowledge necessary for the development of student cosmetologists and manicurists and to teach preparation, organization and presentation of appropriate courses. Graduates are eligible to apply for the Instructor's License for the state of Ohio. The course consists of observation of current instruction methods, and techniques as well as supervised teaching by the apprentice instructor. A diploma is given for this course. Brush Up (120 Hours)** Designed for those who have not worked as a cosmetologist
for a period of time to review and brush-up preparation for the State
Board Exam. To develop a personalized program the student selects the
desired classes needed to pursue only those areas of special interest
